VKontakte launches chatbot for questions to Putin’s Q&A on Jun 15

MOSCOW, Jun 5 (PRIME) -- Russian social network VKontakte has launched a chatbot to get questions for President Vladimir Putin’s annual question-and-answer session, which will be held on June 15, the network’s owner, Internet giant Mail.Ru Group said on Monday on its Web site.

“A special chatbot will help to text a message to the president and indicate data. This year users of VKontakte will be able not only to send a text question, but also a short video message. If a question is chosen, the user will be contacted via the number indicated in a dialogue with the chatbot,” the company said.

A chatbot is a computer program which conducts a conversation via auditory or textual methods.

Mail.Ru Group’s other popular social network, Odnoklassniki, created for editors of the president’s session an option to communicate with users via the application OK Live through calls and comments.

Questions are being accepted from June 4 through the session in the event’s official community on all platforms via the Ask a Question button.
